WHAT TO EXPECT RAFTING BROWNS CANYON:
RIVERRUNNERS offers fully guided whitewater rafting trips in Browns Canyon. Browns Canyon is a remote Colorado canyon. Browns Canyon winds through a secluded, road less, 18-mile section of the Arkansas Headwater State Park.
Your Browns Canyon Rafting trip will start at over 7,500 feet in elevation, at our Riverside Rafting Resort. Here your whitewater rafting guide will teach you how to raft and paddle through Browns Canyon, before you leave our private beach.
The Arkansas River Valley is located in Central Colorado in an area known as Colorado's "Banana Belt". This nickname is derived from the mild climate created by the shadow of the massive 14,000-foot collegiate peaks.
Browns Canyon is carved by the Arkansas River. This alpine setting has large boulders, incredible cliff walls, giant trees, exceptional wildlife and spectacular views of Colorado's tallest 14,000 foot Collegiate Peaks.
Your full day trip will cover about 20 miles, with a good mix of waves and whitewater, and time on the river to look for Bighorn Sheep and swim or even jump off "Jump Rock" if you so desire.
A few more miles and maybe a water fight and you will land at the take out.
A short 15 minute shuttle ride and you are back at River Runners Rafting Resort. At our rafting resort you may enjoy a beverage or light snack while viewing a slide show of photographs of your trip.
Photos are available for purchase. You may purchase a 8 x 10 photograph or a CDROM of all your photographs.
River Runners souvenirs are available for purchase. Our location allows for a unique experience offered by no other outfitter.
